about Lucie

I was born and raised in France. My passion for horses started there at a young age. When I turned 10, I moved to the Netherlands. Horses became my safe haven in this foreign country.
After my horse sports study, I got hired to work for an Olympic dressage trainer. I focused on my dressage education and made all my choices with one goal : Become the best dressage rider and trainer I could be.
I worked in Germany, Belgium and Spain to reach these goals. Later, I realised that the world of sport and rivalry didn’t fit me at all. I wanted more connection with horses and to be more in touch with myself. I had been a big fan of the Canadian horseman Chris Irwin for years. He has developed a method that for me, comes closest to horse language. The method consists of both ground work and riding, and a huge part of it is about body language and awareness.
I contacted one of his first students in the Netherlands, Sylvia van Noye, to learn about this amazing training method. She has been teaching me all about it.
I am also teaching dressage in private- and group lessons, mostly in Limburg (NL). I’ve also obtained my Centered Riding Instructor 1 diploma to deepen my knowledge about the posture and seat of the rider.
I currently travel through southern Limburg, with locations near Maastricht, Heerlen and the wider region of Limburg, Brabant and on the border in Belgium and Germany.
I started Heart 2 Horse to combine my dressage background with horsemanship. My specialities are:
- solving behavioural problems
- getting horse owners over fears both with riding and on the ground
- ground work (round-pen work, lunging, in hand)
- dressage riding in relaxation
- posture & seat
